Rules

1. Only one rod to be used for all club competitions unless otherwise stated. A second rod may be set up, but must not have a line in the water. 2. A maximum of two hooks to be used on all day competitions, except when in conjunction with another club open. Then we use the same amount of hooks as they do. 3. A maximum of three hooks, on all other competitions. 4. Competitors may wet their lines before a match, but with No hooks attached. 5. N.F.S.A. size limits apply except Pout which have to be 9 inches and Smoothounds which have to be 30 inches (Club competitions only). 6. There is a 60-minute limit to weigh in, after the competition finishes, unless otherwise stated. 7. Mackerel will only be accepted at the scales for potential records and nothing else. 8. A species of fish must have an Island Record over 1½ lbs to be eligible for all sweeps and specimen awards. 9. Fishing on Piers is barred on all club competitions and Opens. 10. Members cannot fish Private Beaches i.e. Osborne Bay, or areas where they have sole access with no alternative access – If in doubt contact the competition secretary. 11. Any Complaints especially those that affect the outcome of a competition should be brought to the competition secretary’s attention before the end of the weigh in, and followed up in writing within 7 days. The committee’s judgment is final. 12. No staking out of beach for other anglers before the comp. 13. Minimum distance between anglers fishing on the beach is 1½ lengths of their beach caster, if they request it of anyone who turns up after them. 14. Juniors must cast for themselves, but may have assistance with baiting up and unhooking fish. 15. Assistance can be given to an angler to land a fish, but no one else must handle his fishing rod. 16. All other NFSA rules apply, a copy of which can be supplied on request. 17. The men, ladies, juniors and pairs championship will be decided on your ten best results of the year. 18. All proposals for consideration at the AGM should with the secretary in writing 4 weeks before the AGM. 19. No bait fishing from 30 minutes before the start of any competition. |
