Weigh & Release Scheme

Club members now have the opportunity on CLUB matches and opens to have any fish they have caught, weighed and released, (except for Pout) and for that fishes weight to be counted in the competition, provided that you have one of the following Club Stewards near who can confirm your fishes, sizeable dimensions and weight, which they will record on a Fish Card.

Stewards

Russell Catling,  Alan Payne, Les Dunford, Paul Fincham, Mel Squibb, Paul Hunter, Lee Phillips, Martin Butchers, Alan Bravery, Mark Knight, Mark Gilbert, Rob Kitcher, Pete Bennett, Steve Crews, Mark Johnson, Lee Thompson, Ainsley Bennett, Jamie Currie, Mick Chester, Antony Stanyon, Steve Cooke, John Rose, Mark Marriott, and GarethCroft.

We also accept fish cards from Western Wight Angling Club stewards.

It is necessary now for all potential sweep winning fish and definitely anything over 50% of the island record, to be witnessed by someone independent, other than your fishing partners.

The only exception is when there are two or more stewards in attendance together. All other non-specimen fish can be witnessed by anyone as before.

You must follow the instructions the stewards give you. It is your responsibility to return the fish card to the weigh in within the allotted time. You are advised to bring any fish back, if there are any disagreements. This Scheme is optional.
